If the idea of a family vacation
that includes tours of historic sites
is about as appealing to your children
as cleaning their rooms, the
Looking for Lincoln History
Hunt is the key to unlocking a
journey that combines lots of fun
and a little clandestine education.
DIRECTIONS
With minimal preparation before your trip begins, your children will look forward to their upcoming vacation adventure.
Simply print off each of the pages that relate to the Looking for Lincoln sites
you plan to visit and let your children answer the History Quest using the clues
provided. The answers will be waiting for them at each historic site. Then, when
you arrive at each site, kids will have fun looking for the Mystery History
Object using the picture of the mysterious object also on each page.
Players get one point for each question answered correctly and five points for
finding and identifying the Mystery History Object. A special Looking for
Lincoln reward will await those who are active participants in the Looking for
Lincoln History Hunt at each site.
Each historic site or museum involved in the Looking for Lincoln adventure is
listed in the column on the left. Click on each site to discover the wealth of interesting
history awaiting you and your children in central Illinois!
Answers will be provided to participants at each site location . . . not on
the website.
Be sure to visit the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum
Springfield, Illinois. Combining scholarship and showmanship, this state-
of-the-art Museum will communicate the amazing life and times of
Abraham Lincoln in unforgettable ways.
