Bloomington Hub Tour
Using the City of Bloomington, which is only 140 miles and just under 2 hours from downtown Chicago, as a starting and ending point each day, travelers can easily reach sites in Lincoln, Mt. Pulaski, Decatur, Springfield, and Petersburg from I-55, I-72 and Route 54.

Charleston Hub Tour
Charleston is a logical place to stay to experience some of the sites that are south of Decatur and Springfield including Vandalia. From here it is also an easy drive to Danville. Charleston recently opened a new museum which highlights the Lincoln Douglas Debates and Lincoln log Cabin State Historic site is a 10 minute drive from that site.

Decatur Hub Tour
Decatur is conveniently located near Charleston, Bloomington, Springfield and close enough to Danville to make that a third day. It is an excellent starting point for a two-day tour or a three-day tour including Danville through Champaign. Everything is close enough to keep driving to a minimum no matter which direction you choose.
